Bali Sharks is a conservation nursery located in Serangan, Bali, Indonesia. The shark nursery is an alternative to young sharks being killed for food. Last year we were able to save and release 25 sharks. This year we currently have 17 new sharks and have a goal to save 50 sharks. We hope to introduce a shark tagging program where divers & fishermen will be able to log sitings online.
Our 10m2 (1 are) floating nursery housing 10-20 Sharks at any given time. We currently have Black & White Reef Tip, Sharks and sometimes have Wobbegong, (Carpet) and Bambu sharks. We offer a marine eco-tour which is 100% safe & controlled for visitors, who can feed and visit the sharks underwater. We also visit the Turtle Education & Conservation Center and the Serangan Marine Garden featuring an assortment of rare fish. Seasonally from June to Oct. there is baby Turtle Releasing. Transportation & lunch to complete the tour package.
We have had over 500 visitors, students, media & children's orphanages learn about sharks so far. GlobalTV's Deny Manusia Ikan and Bali & Beyond Magazine have featured us. Here is a recent Jakarta Globe article:
